I completed my latest build for the Japanese and Pearl Harbor GB’s. I used an old Hasegawa A6M2 Zero kit, removed the control surfaces and added ribbing to simulate detreated fabric.
The water is polyester resin and the ripples were made by using a hot air gun set on cold during the drying process of the last layer.
The sea life, including the fish over the starboard wing, were made using bits of plants found around the yard.
Comments and critiques welcome.
That is some amazing WIP shots. I love what you’ve done. That was genius of you to add the fish. Pouring all that resin must have been tedious and difficult. How long did this take? Thank you in advance.
…Seriously impressive and just flat out gorgeous work! Excellent details and this looks like real life captured in scale!! This is the kind of work that makes me feel like a novice. Seriously!
It took a little over 5 weeks. Modifying the kit took the longest. The resin really didn’t take long at all, at least to mix and pour. I let it dry about 2 days between layers and it has 6 layers.
