su-27 progress

Here are progress pics from my revell 1/72 su-27. they are sadly no longer accurate since I lost the PE gunsight. It’s a pity too, because I thought the gunsight came out rather well…

let me know what you think.

Nice finishing on the panels Tanky. Bad news about the gunsight. Having a fairly insatiable carpet monsters of my own, I feel your pain.

thanks nut! [:-,]

No one else has any opinions? at all? positive? negative? neutral?

wow! very nice details on the cockpit considering it’s a 1/72. Keep them coming please!

nicely done. what color did you apply to the cockpit? ive been thinking about building an su27, your work gives me inspirationÜ hehe, well, does tamiya have that color? and, do you have photos of a flanker that was the sand camo scheme? but really, good jobÜ

Thanks for the comments guys. I mixed my own custom cockpit colors out of tamiya paints. I used xf-23 light blue and xf-45 grey and xf-1 white. detail painting was done in enamels.

and here is an su-27 in a sand/brown camo scheme. not sure if this is what you’re after.

actually this maybe and su-33/35.

Look good Tanky…

The Revell kit is a real beauty, some areas are inaccurate, but it looks like a Flanker and has a HUGE decal sheet ! As soon as I spot one in the LHS I’ll buy me a new one…

Did you use the Eduard color PE set?

I think you placed the CRT screen wrong. It has to be placed more aft. Your CRT sreen really sticks out above the instrument panel, but in real Flankers it looks like this:

The CRT screen in the Eduard sets seem to be a problem, in 1/48 scale my PE set from Eduard has the same problem.

I believe you painted the K-36 seat a bit wrong, here’s an example:

And Tanky, that pic you posted ( beige/brown Flanker ) is the Su-37 “Super Flanker” , it has LCD screens in the cokpit, “fly-by-wire” controls, sidestick controller, 2 dimentional moveable exhausts…

Good luck !!!

Let us know how the PE set work out !

Cheers,

Jürgen

yup, I had some fit problems with the CRT screen, it’s difficult to cut away the kit plastic properly. I didn’t paint the seat- it’s an eduard color set, but you’re right, it does look a bit off. I also just realized lloking at the picture that it is an su-35/37 (didn’t see the canards before). thanks for the comments.
