Stuka Camouflage Masks

I’m working on the Hasegawa 87B Stuka which came with a sheet of paper camouflage masks. Wondering exactly how to lay these down on the aircraft so they don’t blow away during airbrushing and lay flat enough that I don’t get bleed through around the edges?

I’ve never seen those, so I’m not sure how they would be used. However if they are not adhesive on one side I’d probably go to an art supply store and get some Frisket. Glue / tape / stick the mask to the Frisket temporarily and cut it out. Since Frisket is adhesive that would give you something to stick to your plane.

John, you’re referring to the the individual splinter pattern shapes printed on a paper sheet, if I remember correctly. I’d do as Scott recommends but I’d also suggest that you photocopy that sheet and instead work with the copy since you’ll need to cut out the shapes. That way you’ll still have the original sheet for reference in case you’ll need it later. Arrange and stick the cut-outs into the Frisket or masking tape (Tamiya’s is a great one) with white glue, then when dry cut out the Frisket/tape using the shapes as templates. Then you can apply the masks to the model. Just make sure to burnish the edges of the masks since you’ll be needing a hard-edged camo pattern for your Stuka (I assume this is the RLM65/70/71 scheme).
