Hi, I have been making kits for a long time, but have had two years out due to kids! now have blown the dust off and started again,
And what a great way to start, the airfix stuka in 1/24 scale, have wanted this kit for along time( saving money for mosquito). anyway I was just hoping that someone can help, My question is Are there any resin/etched parts I can get for this kit before I start? I would like to upgrade alot of the kit, e.g belts, cockpit etc, I would be very greatful if anybody can email me a contact where I can get hold of them. I do live in the U.K.
It may sound strange but try scratch building.Get good ref- materials.Modelers can’t depend on detail sets all the time because if you step in the detail world you may run into a big problem. Good cutting and shaping tools will help.Invest in spare parts from other kits and sheet plastic in many sizes .In 1/24 scale you will find that you will have to add very visible detail than expected.Engine ,Cockpit,Wheel Wells, Guns, and Wiring. The Airfix Stuka is 90 % accurate in detail. You would have not much to do.Cockpit dials instrument face will need to be worked on.
It may take a year before completing such a project w/detail sets or not .You will do fine if time is taken to complete such a project.I forgot to mention the dive flap assembly on each wing.
