Well another one done, more learned and I hope some feedback from you all[:D] Stug does have 2 crew which I am working on, and of course a dog
Well, its a nice clean build. I like the infantry (I personally have a thing for stugs, they look really cool to me)[:D][:D][:D]
looks fantastic miller41!![8D]
is that tamiya’s kit?
just a quick qestion re the MG on the stug: i can’t see it on the the pics on my machine (photos come up in all shapes and sizes for some reason!), but does/should the mg go through the armour shield?? in my pic it looks as though it resting on top.
i may be wrong about its placement altogether so apologies if i’m barking up the wrong tree here!!
great build though!![:D]
regards,
nick
Miller41, it’s looking really good so far. Only one thing bothers me a little…: an even number of figures…
My modeling ‘mentor’, when I was a kid, told me the eye and the brain accept better un-even numbers. When there are a large number of figure, it does not matter that much at all, but with smaller numbers, that the brain can easily identify/add up, it is a ‘problem’. I can not really explain it very well, but I guess with 2, 4, 6, 8, 10,… it’s too ‘regular’, too ‘even’, and that a less ‘balanced’ diorama allows the eye and the brain to be more attentive and interested…
I do not know if you all ‘feel’ the same, and I might just be making a fool of myself…! But I always try to keep the number of vehicles un-even and the number of figures un-even too.
What miller said does seem to be true for some reason , so just throw a commander in that hatch and you are all set ! Very nice concept and diorama by the way .[8D] I like the painting on the figures …ya may want to get some black on those return rollers though , I believe those had rubber on em too .
sorry brain cramp , I meant what DJmodels said …DOAH![B)]
Looks good Miller!! I think you did a great job on the figures too!
Eric
Wow that looks really nice!! I like the detail on the men.

Miller41:

thanx 4 sharing the pix w/ us !
frosty[:)]
grt8 build on all,i jus finished a stug ,um lil different than yours ,mine is quietly resting ,no pple,if i knew how to post pics i would,
Missed the return rollers, will have to change that:-) As far as the MG, its in the ainti-aircraft position. Ref pics show it there sometimes, and as this stug is in a safe place from infantry and tanks, I thought it made sense. May add another infantryman resting at the tank or sitting, but i didnt want to crowd the dio tomuch as it is a small base. Here is the latest and last pic, with the crew.
Very nice Job. I love Stugs as well…as you can tell from my Sig!! Love the figgies as well…
Cheers
Mo
Great build! It’s Stug mania. [8D]
As an offshoot of a Combat Mission ongoing kill fest, miller and I built Stugs in tandem from opposite coasts. I should say he “built” and I’m building [:)] His looks like a beaut, and to top it off, he finished WAY before me. Nice work!
When monktrade gets done I willpost his here as well, don’t let him kid you he is more patient than I am. I checked my references and the return rollers are not rubber on any picute I have. Monk is right, combat mission is the big reason I do this as it’s nice to build the vehicles I destroy so often playing that game:-)
To help you out…
There were at least two different types of return rollers on StugIIIG’s. There was a rubber rimmed type and an all steel type. The type which is included in the Tamiya kit of the StugIIIG is the rubber rimmed type.
Great build. The figures look very nice.[8D][:D]
miller41 hi,
thanks for the info about the MG…now that told me!![:)]
