Strange Trial

To some Yes!

I bought some plastic sheet the other day. I took the Pipe the flooded curbside brought to me. I cut off a chink of the largest Piece of the smaller pipe. Laid it in a cradle made of LEGO! (I use it ,LEGO, for all kinds of building and work stands).

Looking at it in the stand gave me a weird idea. I went and got my Hair dryer which I hardly use anymore( gotta have enough Hair to use it right?) I balanced a clear sheet on the piece of pipe. Hit the plastic with High Heat! Soon I had almost a Tube created of .020 Clear, undistorted by the heat of the dryer. and no scratches either!

So I will be making some Tubes now. Why? Well if I can keep them optically clear, think of the Planes and Subs I can use sections of this tubing on. Interior detail that will not get dusty and unappealing! I also can create slide in Innards that can be plane or ship or spaceship related !

This is the essence of scratch building - looking at something commonplace and envisioning a completely unrelated use for it. And then making it happen.
