How important are the stencil decals on WWII aircraft? I recently bought a Trumpeter P-40B and in checking the kit contents I don’t see any stencil decals. All the major ones needed are there, but not the little stencil ones. I started shopping around for after market decals, but none of those seem to have the stencil decals either? I guess I’ll have to use some from another kit I’ve already built? Or should I just not worry about it?

Have you looked into AeroMaster Decals? I pulled the Building The P-40 WarHawk - A Scale Modeler’s Project Handbook - Glen Phillips and Kevin Hjermstad (Kalmbach Books) from the reference shelf and looked for an aftermarket source and AeroMaster Decals was the aftermarket decal reference for a P-40B build there. They used the Monogram Flying Tigers kit for the build.

If you haven’t looked at this book I would advise you to pick it up. A good reference for this build.

Thanks Greg. I’m going to order an aftermarket sheet of decals and see what I get. I may have been wrong about not getting any stencil decals[:I].
