I felt bad a few months ago because I bought 3 kits off ebay and increase my stash from 4 to 7. But after looking at this post, I really don’t fell to bad now.
Be happy they aren’t Tribbles…[;)]
.
The big problem isn’t so much the kit stash as the assembled kits- especially when a move must be contemplated.[:(((]
I’ve got over a hundred kits in my hobby room closet, so I know what you mean. There’s not much room for much else. Then there’s all the paint stash over by the desk. That’s a dilemma since it has a shelf life. I bet I have every RLM color a dozen times over and all sorts of others. Probably enough paint to build at least all the kits I have.
Hey ;
Waynec ?
When you say Boats , to what are you referring ? Warships , Yachts or what ? T.B.
“SEVEN”??
That’s not a “stash”–that’s “starvation rations”, lol.[:D]
Best thing to do is to start going through it and being honest with yourself about how many kits of a certain mark you need, or will actually build. For istance, I used to have like, a dozen German Panthers: two or three “D” models, for different tiny details or finishes, a couple “A” models with minor detail differences, two or three “G” ones, early, middle, late, etc. an “F”, two "Panther II"s, etc—and now I have like, only eleven, lol. Had to be honest that I just wouldn’t need a third “D” model with shortened fenders and a different exhaust arrangement in the display case.
Seriously though–eBay is a great place to get rid of excess stash. New molds replace old molds regularly in my stash, and Iusually do an inventory every year or so and see what just doesn’t light a fire for me any more and then someone on eBay takes it off my hands…
Hey, it frees up money for that new release coming out soon… [:D]
