Starting New Build Soon - Would Like Input/Guidance Please

I was given a model for my birthday. It is the biggest I will have attempted to build…EVER. Its a 1:48th Scale Revell B-29 SuperFortress. Need to know how much, if any, nose weight I need to put in it before I start and if is there any problems with any fit issues that any of you know of so I can be prepared before beginning the build. I’ve not had very good luck with Revell in the past with fit and finsh. That should at least get me going. I am sure I will have more questions as they come up in the build process. Thanks in advance!

Take care! [bow]

Ask for help on the B-29 in your subject line, you’ll get a good response.

In addition to what’s been said in these forums before, and a modified post header, look at cybermodeler and modelingmadness sites. I think there’s not much to worry about.

You bring up a good topic. For the shear amount of these and their variants built, around 4000, it’s never been a very popular subject, either in the kit manufacturers or modelers. I’ll leave it to others to guess why. And because of that, when folks build a model, there’s not a lot of critism or even knowledge out there.

All of which is to say if you do your research and build her based on a prototype, we’ll all be following you in your build, so go do it.
