Well guys wish me luck. I started work on my first model in 22 years.(I was 12 when I went into model retirement.) I chose a 1:35 Revell M60A3. I don’t have an airbrush so I’m really nervous about trying any kind of camoflage first time out so I’ll probably stick to O.D. Green. I’ll be sure to post some pictures when I get done. Hopefully it’s not too bad. If you’ve built this kit and have any tips or ideas please let me know. I’m sure I’ll have lots of questions for you all as I go. I’m really excited but a little nervous as well. Wish me luck.

Good luck, Chuck. And welcome back into modeling, especially here with the the rest of us on the dark side!!

Welcome back, a couple spray cans and some silly putty the mask and you could probably do camo with out the a-brush.
Hey great idea. I found an archived atricle (July 2003) on using Silly Putty as a mask and I think I’m gonna give it shot. What the heck nothing ventured nothing gained.

I think thats what I’ll do with my mobel wagon. It’s yellow with red brown add green squiggles. A spot of color mask… till I do all the squigles then yellow. When I get to it.
Good luck Chuck. I hope you will be able to post some pictures the tank once complete.

[#welcome] welcome back… Good luck on the M60… Keep us posted
God Bless,

If looking for aftermarket accessories or build up reviews, keep in mind that this kit is a former Esci/AMT/Ertl M60 kit. This is the most accurate M60 series kit made and they look great when completed.
We used the MERDC scheme minus the sand color back in the late 1980s. A sort of modified NATO 3 color scheme using a more tan brown. These vehicles were never camouflaged in OD green. Use forest green instead.
Welcome back to the hobby. The silly putty masking works great. i tried it on my first camo job and you can’t beat it. If you want ot see the results from it check out the leopard 2 on my web site. Look forward to giving you any help I can on your build.
Welcome back Chuck!
I am also just returning to modeling after a 15 or so year hietus, I am currently working on a panther G in the group build, It is a blast and this is a great place for help and info.
