Starfighter

I picked this Star Wars kit up at the local Wal Mart for about ten bucks and used it as an excercise in Alclad. Everything on the exterior is Alclad Lacquer paint and so too is the stand. Interior is all Gunze Sangyo acrylics.

Wow! Awesome job and killer idea using the Alclad. That is just very very cool[8D]

Cool![8D][tup]

Excellent work! Turned out looking fantastic w/those Alclad’s. [tup]

That does indeed look awesome! Makes me curious to see the pilot. [:D]

I could not find anything even close in scale to use as a pilot. Would have loved to put a WW2 Luftwaffe pilot figure with this. 1/24 is too big, 1/35 too small.

Looks Good Swanny

Bud

Totally awesome Matt!![:P][^] Alcad looks great too

Would one of the Hasbro action figures fit?

Looks pretty good. Was it a spray can of Alclad or did you use an airbrush?

Have you tried 1/32 scale figs?

Alclad was done with a Badger 360 followed up with a Sotar 20/20. I have a 1/32 figure (too small) and a 1/24 figure (too big). Have not see the Hasbro figure so cannot comment on that one. If I cold find a good alien and a good human is scale I could do a spaceship sales lot with the human kicking the tires and the alien expousing the good points of the ship. Would have to create a price sticker for the window … 30 day or 3 light year warrantee.

I like that idea! There was a guy who made a really kewel Used Spaceship Lot diorama and displayed it at WonderFest '05. He had ships from Star Wars, Star Trek and several TV shows and other movies in his lot. Pretty kewel. If i can find a link to the pic I’ll try and post it here - if I remember. I want to say it was at Starship Modeler in both the WF section and their regular Gallery section. I think you’d like it a lot. [:D]

On the issue of the figures, perhaps you could modify a smaller fig with some putty? Sort of buildup a space suit…? [?]

That is a great job! Most impressive! Your work definantly gives the itch to try out something new to me. [:)]
