Star Wars Speeder Bike

Well I decided to build all those old Star Wars kits i’ve been holding on to. This was the first of them, kind of like a warm-up. Next will be the Shuttle Tydirium(SpellChek)[:D]. Then the Falcon…Hope y’all like.

Awesome job! What scale is that, you reckon’? - Calvin

Hmmmmm? Well if I had to guess the figure is about 5 to 6 inches tall. So if my math is right it’s about 1/12. Thanks for the reply.

I have always wanted to build a full size speeder bike body and put it on a honda CBR600 chassis.

I’d be the biggest nerd in town.

No, NO you would’nt. I went to Disney Land’s MGM park and there they have a full size one. I did not want to get off of it. I made my wife use half a roll of film, and the whole time i’m making speeder bike sounds and laughing like a little school girl. By the way I’m 30 years old, now this a big nerd…[:D]

I reckon you would be a dead nerd after your first test-drive. [;)]

I could build it safely no problem but the scene at the end of Easy Riders comes to mind.

I think your handling will be totally gone.

Seen what happened to a friend that tried to drive his GPZ900 Ninja without the fairing, he is lucky that his head missed the curbstone by about 2 inches otherwise …

Wow! Great work, looking forward to the next project pics.

Matt

Thanks for the reply guys. I never head-butted a curb, but while dirt biking I head-butted a tree. And the guy driving broke the old collar bone. Wow, good times.

I really like your build, still got one of those on the shelf.
Still undecided when I will build it as I remember a few problem areas that I want to fix
next time round, also plan on replacing a few items with my own made ones.
Might also repose the figure as I find the pose way too static(boring).

Time for you to get started on that Lambda Class Shuttle now.

I had one about 8 years ago and never finished it. Not sure what happened to it to be honest. I remember some of the parts being a little thick.

Very nice job! I remember having one of those, but like most of my other models from my youth, parts disappeared and I chucked the half-finished kit into the trash. AAnyone got a canopy for a glue-together X-Wing? [:D]

Make your own from clear sheet styrene and don’t forget to give it a nice tint as they had in the movies. [;)]

And you remember corretly, something I found with all the kits is thick parts. These kits just beg “Please Sir, dont build me straight from the box, I beg you Sir.” [:I] Anyway

I have you know that part is very sneaky, I helped my nephew build one and that was the only part he lost.

Yes build the shuttle…and pics…ahhhh pics.[dinner]
The funny thing about a missing canopy is I remember twice having gotten the X-Wing and it had double the clear parts…must have been yours [(-D]

Matt

OK OK , i’ll build the shuttle…[:D], but you have to give me my X-wing clear parts back.[;)]

Great job. A friend of mine built one those back years ago. Seeing yours brings back some good memories. Hope I can come across one those one of these days so I can build one. Had the chance a couple of years ago but didn’t get it…wish I had.

Good job.
