has any one built the amt/ertl star wars collector edition…rancor…how did u go and did u place plaster in the feet like is suggested regards stooo[8D]
I have built it and only had a few minor fit problems. I had to reshape a few of the pieces and had to fill some minor gaps, but that is pretty normal for vinyl models from what I have heard. Be careful when placing the guard into the Rancor’s hand… it is very easy to scratch the guard’s paint. And yes I did fill the legs and rear end with plaster to be safe. He looks like he would do a face plant if you dont. It makes him heavy but stable. Hope this helps

I didn’t even know there was a Rancor… Do you guys happen to have pics of it?

Auction also shows a VERY nice buildup.
I dont have any pics of mine, but if you go to www.starwarsmodels.com there is a decent example of the model. It is a very nice sized piece too… about 12 inches tall

-note this is not my model…it is just an example
I filled the bottom of mine to the waist with plaster, the arms with newspaper, then filled the top to the neck hole with expanding foam. Expanding foam expands alot. A little goes a long way. If you try this, squirt a bit in, let it sit for a couple hours, then if needed squirt a bit more, and wait again.
It’s better to take you time than to ruin the kit by squirting a tons of the stuff in there and have it expand right out of the neck hole and all over the kit. That would be a mess.
Also there will probably be some big gaps due to the malformation of some parts. I used MagicSculp epoxy putty to fill the gaps and blend it into the skin.
Good luck, this is a great kit.
Brian

It was new to me, Revell has issued some new Star Wars kits.
Most of them are easykits, so they qualify as diecasts if you shake te box twice. A destroyer is a ‘true’ model, with a staggering level 3!
