I was just wondering how everyone is coming along on their projects? [:)]
Still puttying/priming the Ranger. Primed the engines. I may be able to actually glue them on tomorrow. Still working out bugs on the carrier. Bought my oldest daughter her first model kit today, so should have another modeler in the family.
How are you coming along, Woody? Any more pics? I’l take another pic when I glue the engines on.
Still here just took a break to get some other projects underway. I have however made some progress on scribing all the panel lines.[xx(]
Matt
Sounds like you guys are making good progress! I was working on some CG images earlier today for one of my upcoming projects. A little bit ago I finished scribing the bottom of my saucer section and I’m cutting out the internal center brace for it right now. I hope to have pic tomorrow sometime of the basic saucer assembled. If I wasn’t trying to kit this thing I would be able to fudge it a little and be a lot farther along.
I guess it has been the group participation that has made this project so fun for me.
er… well… I got all the parts I need! [:I]
I was wanting to get the 1st pilot TOS E out of the way first to make room on my bench for building. Oooo! Actually, I remembered that I cut off the bridge/B/C deck to make way for the conversion of that area. [:D]
I am in, I am in the design phase only of two projects, one is a Scratchbuild klingon destoryer from the movie era and the other is still in the mulling phasebut it will be federation in design and probably TOS/Movie era.
Watch this space.
I am starting on my next scratchbuild… the Minotaur[:D]

You guys are making progress. Cool beans! [8D]
. . . . and Dan, you are a machine! I can’t wait
to see your next effort! [:0][:D]
Did some more work last night as well. With a pen, ruler & straight edge, I mapped out on the hull where I want the booms & the center piece to go. I also cut/sanded the starboard boom to fit the contours of the primary hull. Port side is next, then the center rectangle.
Not much for me just the fuselge sides and not much of that.
I have figured out the shape of the engineering section and I’m using my drawings to make a simple paper model to check proportions. Most fan based drawings show the deflector dish on a post sort of like the arrangement on the Franz destroyer . I don’t like that because it looks like an after thought. The unseen (in the original painting) front of the engineering section will be disc shaped to except a proper deflector installation. I will also incorporate an under cut at the fantail. It will be a sweeping curve reminiscence of the one on the TOS Enterprise. I’m pretty happy with the design so far.
I’m gluing two of my engines on today, and making the pylon for the dorsal engine. I’ve already talked to a friend of mine about airbrushing it. He has a five Iwata set-up in a workshop and said I could use it any time. Just have to decide on a base color. I know Hydrans are supposed to blueish, but what tone.Any suggestions?
Steve, I like the blue.[;)]
Something like this:

The engines are on! The top one is just temped on for the pics, which I just got back from. Had to go to a friend’s to use his digi-cam. He should e-mail them to me soon.
That looks like a good paint color. I can’t wait to see those pics.[8D]
Just a quick update & a picture. Here’s a scan after gluing on the port boom. You can see where I have drawn out for the center rectangular areas that will go on soon.

The patient is on the table and the surgery has begun! Looks good so far. Keep the pics coming! [;)]

How’s everyone doing on the last leg of the race? Paul you still in?
