Did you see the post on the main IPMS/USA FB page? Hopefully it will give you ideas for what to build for 2026 Nationals this year! One of the special categories is The 60th Anniversary of Star Trek: Any vehicle, figure, or diorama from the entire Star Trek franchise. So bring all your non-cloaked builds to the show.

Still on the fence about going this year Mark. It’s about an 18-hour drive and I haven’t checked to see if there’s any hotel cancellations yet. Plus, the price of gas…

As one half of The Eagle has Landed Productions, I’m not going, but my partner is…

But yeah, it’s going to be expensive this year no doubt…

I hear ya. I can say that there are plenty of accommodations in and around Ft. Wayne if nothing opens up at the hotels closest to the Grand Wayne Convention Center. Of course, there’s nothing much I can say about the price of ga$. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

You’re right. Still, it won’t be as costly as learning not to try and catch an Ex-Acto knife when you drop it…

Too bad I’m not going to the convention this year. Would love to take my what if USS United States CVN-90 aircraft carrier for that special US Navy carrier theme category.
As for STAR TREK, can “what if” type models be entered for that special category? I had this idea of turning a Galaxy class starship (Same type as the Enterprise-D) into a what if Federation civilian passenger cruise liner.
Imagine seeing the Orion Nebula, take a trip to the pleasure planet of Risa, visit the Vulcan Science Academy, and more …all for the amazing cruise price of 3 slips of gold pressed latinum!

Well, that will be my what if project for a future contest down the road. But not now.

That idea reminds me of a SNL sketch they did when Patrick Stewart was the host

It’d still be a Star Trek subject, in my book. We’ve all seen the nearly infinite variations of Matt Jefferies’ original designs out there. He’s probably scratching his head over them all in the Hereafter as we discuss this!

Or the one where William Shatner played Kirk after the Enterprise had been converted into a revolving restaurant.
