We just moved into a house we built a year ago. Under my model desk, much to my surprise, my wife squirreled away something that I found use for at 6 this morning as I made my pass through the room on my way to work. She left a pile of roof shingles and my bare feet have been scraping them for a year. I said, “wallah” and placed one on my shelf. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous base for my 1:48 WWII planes. Looks better than the fake wood finish of the shelving. Looks ike a tarmac somewhere in the world to me. Tonite, all my shelves will be outfitted with them. Did not have to cut them either, the width was perfect. Look into it if you are looking for a base for your planes. [8D]
Surely you should see a doctor if you have shingles? (and don’t call me shirley*)
*Airplane, I think.

NSCLCCTL.
They also come in different colors.
And honest, we knew what you were conveying. Just having a little fun.
I appreciate the tip.

It should look like tarmac, because it IS basically a minature tarmac! FYI Asphalt shingles are little stones impregnated in asphalt. Alsphalt tarmac is coarse and fine material ( #57, #10 stone and sand), coated with asphalt and compacted with a smooth drum roller.
Hence the Air Force job title: Heavy Construction Equipment Operator and Pavements Specialist.
