I’ve been trying to figure out what gauge of wire to use to replicate scale wiring runs and hand holds on 1/35 armor models.
I found a nice Wikipedia page that shows wire gauge and its equivalent size in inches. From that I was able to convert to 1/35 scale by dividing the actual diameter in inches by 35.
For 2", 1", .5" and .25" scale wire/conduit there are exact matches with standard wire gauges (15, 21, 27 and 33 gauge). These are the only 4 gauges that align exactly with 1/35 scale. Everything else is close.
