Better know as rat warfare the germans and russians would offen joke about this close proximity warfare by sayin we have captured the kitchen but we are still fighting over the living room . This is the 2nd diorama i have done i wanted to recreate a german house that fighin is insueing. i used dragon models and mini art building i hope you enjoy.
Overall, a nice looking diorama. It looks like there is a bit of a shine of the figures in the field gray overcoats, but that just could be due to the flash. Maybe a tad more rubble would truly give the look of the savagery of the fighting there.[Y]
BTW, the Stalingrad battle was from Aug 42 until Feb 1943.[8-|]
It is a good start and with the feedback from the forum, you will make better and better dios. If you are happy with it, that is the main thing.
The Doog as a real point . You need piles of rubble…look at the broken wall on the RHS and think how big a pile of bricks and mortar and wall paper and roof it would make.
I think a really good exercise is to check out real buildings and see how they weather…where the dirt collects and runs dowm with the rain, where gutters come down, wires run, plumbing goes eyc etc, all those little details added together would make a great building centre-piece for the action.
also, when using miniart buildings… they look beautiful when finished but take ALOT of work. Yours still have excess flash around the brick rubbel, there two halves are not even touching in the top right. big nono
