I know this doesn’t have any armor but I think it is ONE of the TOP TEN classic World War II films so I thought I would let those of you that may want to watch it like ME that it is on Turner Classic Movies tonight.
For me its in my Top 5
Personally I think one of William Holdens greatest roles.

I wanted to leave room for those who may not have it in the Top 5.
Actually my Top 5 in no particular order are Stalag 17, Battleground, Thirty Seconds over Tokyo, Heroes of Telemark and Patton.
If there on or I watch the DVD…Its get the pizza, chips and turn the phone off!

Stalag 17 is certainly a great film
I have been having second thoughts about “Patton” after reading Carlo d’Este’s great biography on Patton - “A Genius For War”. Bradley was a consultant on the film and of course made himself look good in the movie. Many people don’t know that both Bradley and Beedle Smith were banned from attending Patton’s funeral as a death bed request. The Messina incident with the band was pure fiction. Montgomery actually told Patton to take Messina because he was too bog down in the mountains. Patton didn’t trust Monty anyway becasue of comments made by Monty and other British generals (Including Alexander) about the combat fitness of American troops.
I have almost all of the movies on your list on DVD, One that I like isn’t on it is “A Walk In the Sun” and “12 O’clock High”.

Telsono - A walk in the sun, Dana Andrews, Richard Conte and a very young Lloyd Bridges.Another great movie and I think it has been overlooked by a lot of people, a truly great flick. I think 12 O’clock high is one of Gregory Pecks greatest movies. He has done many a great films but I think that stands out the most. Another great Peck war movie is Pork Chop Hill.

I have always liked Humphrey Bogart’s “Sahara”, its a wartime propaganda film fantasy, but still a great flick.
If you are not familiar with my avatar, its Merian C. Cooper, King Kong’s daddy, in his Polish Air Force uniform. Besides being a film maker a true decorated hero and adventurer.

Bob, “A Walk in the Sun” was my aunts all-time favorite war-movie.
For me, I think it’s “Downfall” about Hitler’s last days in the bunker based on his secretary Traudel Junge’s memoires. I don’t know if it was the excellent acting (Bruno Ganz), or all the real German spoken. LOL
Eric, I never heard of it. Im hitting netflix now to see if it is available.
