Stainless PE problems

I am working on a model with a stainless steel PE package. I have tried CA, white glue, tamiya fine. it seems white glue work a bit, but very weak. Any suggestions?

Have you tried hitting the surface you’re applying the adhesive to a quick buff with some sandpaper? Maybe 400 grit?

I haven’t used stainless steel PE, but I use Gator’s Grip Hobby Glue for brass PE. It is an acrylic glue that was developed a few years back by an IIPMS member and it is pretty strong. A lot of my PE is ship’s railings and they have held up very well.

I looked up the website to make sure he is still in business. The website is Gator’s Model Studio.

I did try sanding both surfaces. That does seem to help. Not super strong, bot good enough to continue assembly.

Tamiya bottle clear works well, dries clear. Micro Mark Liquid PSA is excellent, BUT it sticks immediately like contact cement–little to no wiggle room, also dries clear. I use toothpicks to apply just a dab–cuts down on squeese-out.
