Spray Booth?

I’m looking to build my own spray booth. Anyone have good links to tutorials that they have built themselves?

So far these are the only links i’ve used… what does everyone think about these booths? or are there better ideas/techniques to building a booth?

This one is very good:

The fan is the critical component. The wrong kind can send you to the hospital, after the explosion and fire, of course.

I used Klaus’s article and built this beauty with a split hinged plexiglass 2 pc lid and a 495 cfm fan from grainger. Expensive (100 bucks) but it will last forever. Used a couple of the linkable halogens from home depot to light. Uses standard 12 by 24 flanders precision air filters, got from work free! Rubber bands hold filter tight.

Mine is 36" across, so I can get big planes in there.

Sorry for all the pics.

Thank you chaps for the help. Nice pics and booth Jamalone.

So what 495 cfm fan from grainger do I need that “won’t” blow me up. lol

I want something that’s powerful enough to really pull the fumes out.

4C445A. If you use a round hose like I did you will need an adapter from the square exit to round duct which is a couple of bucks as well. It is sealed so vapors are not a problem, you’re safe. It is probably overkill but I didnt want a wimpy bathroom fan. I can spray alclad and have an open container of laquer thinner inside and you can even get a hint of odor. Just dont run with door closed unless you have air inlets on the side of your booth.
