its been a while since I’ve posted on the Aircraft forum so I thought I’d pop in and share my latest effort with all of you.
This is a Hasegawa 1/48 Spitfire Mk.IX. It was built with the Eduard PE set and it is my entry for the 2007 Spitfire Group Build. Hope you like her.[;)]
Beautiful job on this one Darren! Your secret workshop keeps pumping out incredibly detailed and finished work. The detail you put into the cockpit and L/G is nothing short of astounding. This model is definately the dog’s bollocks!
Darren: did you make any corrections to the Hasegawa kit ?
The reason I am asking is simple: I have two of them scheduled to be built this year and I read about some Hase inaccuracies especiallly in length or the aircraft. However, I do not plan to do any corrections and just take them as they are. I will just block anyone from measuring of my models [:D]
depending on who you speak to, the accuracy of Hasegawa’s kit has always been questionable. As a modeler who builds for fun and enjoyment I can tell you that even OOB this is a great kit. As a Spitfire lover, I and many other “purists” will tell you that the fuselage length is too short if you want accuracy. In the end if that accuracy doesn’t bother you too much, you’ll really enjoy this kit.
