Spitfire Mk IX 1/48

Hello !

its been a long trime I did not finish a real new aircraft. This one comes from the ICM box, one of the most detailled in the market and probably the most accurate (according to what I know), if you except a to narrow nose that need a little transformation and the replacement of the complet spinner. Otherwise, the box provides you a full engine and a lot of underwings options. Very mice indeed.

This particular aircraft is a No 341 Squadron machine, lost in combat over France the 27/08/1943. Pilot : C. R. Mouchotte, Freee French, KIA.

Bye and thanks for looking !

Great looking Spit.

Wow…you did an outstanding job…love that underbelly weathering.

Awesome![:D[

Every aspect is well executed in your approach to painting and weathering the aircraft. Some may think the weathering and panel definition is a tad over done, its a artistic interpretation of the real 1/1 aircraft that I feel you have done very well and realistically given the limitations of 1/48 scale. I have the same kit 3000 miles away, started it (10%) and agree its a excellent representation with excellent fine detail.[Y]

That’s a good looking machine, great attention to details like the tire stencilling and oil streaks. [Y]

I picked up the ICM Spitfire a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised with the contents, you’re right, very well detaild & lots of options. Glad to see one built up!

That is awesome work!

Beautiful Build. Well done [Y].

Regards, Rick

I like your paint job. It is absolutely great. What paint and airbrush did you use ?

Awesome. I had to double take when I first looked at it yo make sure it wasnt real. Saw the ICM Spitfire VIII not long ago now this. I think I need to gave a good think about getting one.

Hello !

Thanks to all of you for looking and adding some comments…

About the airbrush, I’m working with an “Evolution” from Harder/Steenbeck 0.2 mm needle) and the paints are usually Tamiya/Gunze acrylics. For me the best on the market.

See you soon with another WWII kit.
