Count me in guys! Not sure but I’m leaning towards a mark 1 will know for sure later.

Roy

Ok I’m in for sure and I already know what I’m building

I just fell in love with this pic when I found it, to me it is screaming build me. I especially like the fact that the engine cowl has been so nicely polished, I can see a coat or two of Alclad II polished Aluminum in my future I think.

Oh and by the way, I kinda do like Spitfires [:D]

Cheers

I forgot to mention, great badge Darren [tup][tup]

Oh sure, why not…at least I’m thinning out the stash a bit. Put me down for the 1/48 Hasegawa Mk. IX. Not sure if I will use the kit decals or aftermarket. Might be a while before I get started, but it’s always fun to monitor everyones progress and admire their skill.

Count me in too…I just ordered both the Tamiya 1/48 Mk.Vb and Mk.I, but I’m leaning towards the Mk.I for this GB. Might be a little while for me to get started on this one, because after the Sea Hurricane, I will be embarking on my build of Canadian Ace G. Barker’s Sopwith F.1 Camel for a display at our Legion Hall up here. Not sure if anyone here’s done the rigging on one of those, but it can be a bit time consuming. [;)]

…and ditto on the group badge! Looks great!

Seeing this is an open ended GB, I think I can committ to building every mark of Spitfire for it… LOL.

I think if schedule permits, I’ll do at least a dual build of a Mk. I and an F22/24. Be kinda neat to do the first and (basically) the last production Marks.

Then I can fill all the ones in between… [:D]

Great to have you fella’s on board!

Darren-thanks mate! [tup]

You guys KNOW I’m in! [:D]

OK I will consider the arm sufficiently twisted (self inflicted of course) and since it is open ended I am in with a Tam. 1/48 MkV. It will probably be OOB (as soon as I stuff the “B” with PE and resin[:D])

When do we start waiving the flag… er… badge? Did I miss that? Now or atthe start date?

Ok to post a pic of the one I built a couple of months ago? [:D] I’m taking her along with my '109E Trop and Corsair to our local IPMS model show this weekend. Wish me luck!

Very nice, Frank! [tup] I love your weathering techniques…the results are always very subtle, but extremely effective and realistic. Best of luck to you this weekend!

…and don’t forget to post some pics! [:D]

Thanks Mike, coming from a guy who really knows how to weather that is a HUGE compliment! My girlfriend is letting me take her new $1500.00 Nikon to the show, hopefully I can get some great pics!

Frank,

Best of luck this weekend. With the work I have seen so far you will win.

Roy

Love the Spitfire, I have yet to build one.

Marc,

You start waving the banner whenever you like. [;)]

Frank,

lovely to see your Spit again. Good luck for the show this weekend.[tup]

I recon you’ve got a good chance of winning there.[;)]

Fine looking Spit Frank. Good luck at the show.

Well if we are showing previous efforts here’s a Mk.II converted from a Tamiya Mk.I that I did for a Battle of Britain GB a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the decals silvered incredibly badly despite being applied to a nice shiny coat of Future [:(!]. Oh well there’s always another Spitfire to build.

Cheers

Thanks guys! Appreciate the kind words.

Darren- Nice looking bird! I really like your weathering, has that worn look w/o being overdone.
