Spitfire GB anyone?

Well after getting a spitfire model on ebay, and going to the book store to find referance. I found a magazine saying it was the spitfires 75th birthday. Maybe someone (maybe me maybe another) could get a spitfire GB going? Any scale, any version, any time frame? I think its a well worth aircraft to have one for!

Ok rules are as follows:

  1. Any type of Spitfire ever made.

  2. Any scale, any era, dont care as long as its a Spitfire.

  3. Cross overs are fine, partially built is fine, after market or OOB is fine.

  4. HAVE FUN!

Official roster will be up by the end of the week. If you get WIP pics before then, please wait to post them until I make the official thread in the GB page.

Hey Psycho, I’ll give it a go I won a Revell 1/48 Spit Mk II in a raffel at a contest a few weeks back, so I’m In. it will be a while before I’ll be able to start but can’t wait.

I’d definitely be interested. I’ve somehow accumulated 4 in the stash (Tamiya Vb, ICM VIII and IX, and Tamiya’s 1/32 VIII)…may be a good kick in the butt to actually build one!

I would be interested in a Spitfire groupbuild. I have Airfix’s new mold Spitfire, a couple of their old mold Spitfires, and Tamiya’s, sitting on a shelf in the basement–all ready to go in 1:72. I’ve wanted to make a set of them from 610 Squadron…

well now that I have a camera I just might give one of these group builds a go. Tried last year but never could swing getting a camera and I moved and the kits didnt survive the move. And I just happen to have the right color of RAF paint too.

It will probably be the 1/48 revell kit that I do.

Alright, everyones that is in, send me a pm with the title spitfire gb and what model youre going to make. If anyone wants to suggest a time to start that would be nice. I do have 2 builds which id like to finish before doing this one.

yeah, I’m in! I bought a Revel 1/48 Mk Ii for my son, but he changed his mind and didn’t want to build it- its been sitting on my shelf ready to go!

Seems like we have quite a few interested. Please PM me everything and i’ll get a roster going. Rules and start date will be up in the next few days. I will transfer over to the GB forums once it gets going, offical roster will be there then.

well i’ve never been part of a group build before and I am something of a spitfire nut, so I am for sure interested. i’ve got a mk.V in the very early stages of construction, but could put it on hold until an official start date is announced, if that is the way it works…

I have two Spitfires in my ‘storage’, and some unusual ideas for them… maybe I can join.
