Thanks migs, That is a nice pic of the prototype.

Tamyia has an excellent Spitfire Mk1 in both 1/48 and 1/72 scale. I know the the 48th scale kit has three canopies to choose from and one is fairly flat looking.

thanks guys
its 1/48

Hi Masu
Paragon used to make a very nice conversion set to do K5054 in 1/48th scale. It might be a bit hard to find now that they have been out of business for a while. K5054 had a 2 blade Watts propeller which is very difficult to find. Production Spits used a different type 2 blade propeller.
As for the unblown canopy, there is nothing like it in the Tamiya kit. You will need a Falcon early Spitfire canopy. The early canopy didn’t have the clear vision “knockout” panel on the port side. The windscreen also had no armoured glass protection.
Of course I have been referring to 1/48th scale here.
The Tamiya 1/72nd scale Spitfire is horrible and you are much better off with the Airfix kit, unless, of course, you are just interested in fit and don’t care about shape as long as it resembles a Spitfire somewhat.
