Hi I am looking to make a model of Lindberghs’ ‘Spirit of St.Louis’. Could anybody tell me if there have ever been any larger scale plastic kits, ie 1/48th and above.
Many thanks for your help. Steven

I remember seeing one but I cant remember who made it, I think it was in 1/48. But I know there is one out there. If no luck here you can always try Ebay, or modeling maddness. Go to my profile and click the link. Oh and welcome to the FSM forums.
See ya

Lindberg made what I think is a 1/48 Spirit of St. Louis. Glencoe reissued it a few years ago. Both are usually available on Ebay. Good Luck.
Looking forwad to seeing how you’ll do the turned metal look on the engine cowling…!
thanks for everyones kind replies. As for how I will do the metal cowl, I dont know yet
I gave up making plastic kits a while back but Ive got a big attic room at uni next year and need something to hang from it
Originally I was after a 1/48 lanc but they tend to go for more than I can justify spending so this is my seocnd choice.
best regards, steve
With a big attic room to fill, consider Guillow’s 1/16th scale Spirit of St Louis.
Not too expensive and room for plenty of detail.

Lone Star models did a resin update set for the Glencoe kit. Not sure if it is still available, but might be worth an email to them.
