Last week I’d mentioned in a post how limited my budget was in getting an air compressor.
Well, the people on this forum are some great folks.
Two folks contacted me offering to ship me a spare compressor- no charge.
Of course, I accepted the first offer (from H2O_MARK), who generously offered to send me a spare Paasch compressor he had.
Thanks to the person who made the other offer, too! (I’ll let you remain anonymous so your PM’s don’t get full… [;)])
And H2O_MARK (Rob) also said “Hey, I’ve got this spare Paasch VL, I’ll throw that in too.”
I know this is a message forum for a hobby, with people spread all over the world. But I’ve seen some very generous folks on here, and been the beneficiary of so much (rgronovius- thanks to you too!), and this amazing gesture from Rob (H2O_MARK) is just really special to me. In a day when Internet forums often degenerate into bash sessions, this is a special place- regardless of skill level, location or anything else.
So to Rob/H2O_MARK- I cannot say how much I appreciate your kindness and generosity. I know you say that it’s nothing others wouldn’t have done- but it means a heckuva lot to me. Than you so much my friend!
That’s awesome news Jon and I agree, there are some cool people here on this forum who want to help others excel in this hobby.
I sent a Badger 100LG to one friend on here and an Anthem 155 to another and it was such a great feeling to be able to help out a fellow modeler.
It is indeed better to give than to receive as the scripture says. [;)]
The people here are indeed very nice… I can’t count the number of PE sets, decals, references etc… that have been sent to me from WAY overseas… I always strive to repay the favor, even if it is to a totally different member in need. I’ve noticed it builds more and more sharing amongst the community, the more that is given. the more it helps inspire others to give…
Jon,
You’re very welcome! I will get it packaged up and sent out this week! I’m glad to see it go somewhere it will get used, as it stands here, it’s just collecting dust! I’m just glad I could help someone out. I’ll send you a PM with the tracking info and such when I drop it off at FED-EX.
Right now were getting our new AC installed, as I type this. Not a day too soon either! LOL
Jon, I can truly understand your feelings & sentiments towards Rob. like you, I am on a “limited” budget. I was looking at getting the quick-change A/B from Harbor Freight (See thread on Quick-Change A/B) MikeV said “don’t get that junk. Get a Badger” Well, Tom (Tho9900) stepped in & offered to look around for something that wouldn’t break my pocketbook. After exchanging a few PMs & email He sent me the Badger 175 that I now have. Only thing is, I have to post pics of my work with it. Fair enough & I will as soon as I can.
There are alot of good people here & Ross is another as he sent me the airline for it. (Thanks Guys!)[tup] It is a great feeling to know that there are others who are looking to help fellow modelers become better at their skills. I didn’t realise how much better the double action A/B was until I finally tried it.
I tip my hat to Rob, Ross & Tom & MikeV for their selfless acts of kindness & Generousity.
Thanks Jon for sharing this with us[:D] I’ll step down off my[soapbox] now[;)]
Eddie - just a reminder… I still haven’t received the $325.00 in shipping it cost me to send it to ya… you promised… [;)] (geez… maybe I should start selling on ebay???) [(-D] And don’t worry about rushing for pics… I aint going anywhere… BTW: have you got that regulator yet? Just curious how the difference is in spraying…
LoL Tom!! Check’s in the mail[:D] Got the regulator the 24th & I haven’t had alot of time to play with it [:I]but, I’ve noticed quite a difference in how the paint flows (see the thread on the regulator ) I like IT!! getting down on pressure & close in combat[}:)]
