I thought I’d post a shot of a recently finished project, Special Hobby’s 1/32 scale X-15A-2.

A great model, and it looks great next to Revell’s 1/32 scale X-1. Look for a full Workbench Review in an upcoming FSM.
Cheers!

Wow! that looks awsome. I’d like to build an X-15 or X-1 sometime. Can you post a pic of the X-1-I’d like to see it. Great job again.
My next project will be the 1/48 X-15 by Special Hobbies. Matt what did you use for black paint on your model?
Looks great Matt. I have the 1/48 kit in the stash, but haven’t tackled it yet. Seeing yours, I may move it up to the top of yhe heap.
Regards, Rick
Very nice work Matt!
[#ditto] Great job, Matt! I too would love to see a few comparison pics next to “Glamorous Glennis”! I’ve always loved the X planes and would love to give that a shot in 1/48 sometime in the next few years[tup]
Gordon,
The black paint is good old Tamiya acrylic flat black. I followed it with an airbrushed coat of Future. When it was dry, I applied the decals, and applied a light coat of Testor Acrylic flat clear. I wanted it to have a little bit of shine (like gunmetal) and not be completely flat.
The decals, by the way, are fantastic. The whites and yellows are completely opaque even over the black.
