Spanish soldiers circa 1740s

Hi, can someone point out some plastic Spanish soldiers suitable for 1740s Florida? I’m thinking along the lines of Armies In Plastic. Thank you.

Any scale preferance? The only real sets i can think of are in 1/72

Here is a link to some of the sets.

While they may be the War of Spanish Succession (which ended in 1713), The uniforms seem to be almost identical.

Sorry about leaving out the scale. I would prefer 1/32, but could work with other scales. Thanks for the link, I am checking it out now. I’d like to model a scene set at the Castillo de San Marcos at St. Augustine, Fl., and that’s the time period I’ve narrowed it down to.

These sets are a little scarce unfortunately but i narrowed down a few available ones. Personally, I was never a fan for armies in plastic, the poses always seemed quite stunted. Another bonus about 1/72 is you can a much bigger scene in scale with about half the size.

Been searching for the same thing for YEARS and haven’t come up with much…except for this -

A few years back there was a shop in St. Augustine that mainly sold fancy home goods, but the owner also had a few metal soldiers as well. One day I went in and found a number of Spanish troops and purchased one, and the cashier mentioned that the owner casted and painted all of them. I’m not a huge fan of glossy soldiers but the detail was great, so I asked her to ask the owner if he would be willing to sell me some of them unpainted. He never got back to me and soon after the store ended up closing.

I posted a picture of the figure on a few forums not long ago asking for an ID (there was nothing on the base save for a small 09 or 60). Someone stated that it looked like an older Rose figure, but I haven’t been able to check on it yet. I will try and find the picture and get it up on here.

Here it is - about 54mm

Cool, thanks for the photo. That looks pretty good. I’m getting a set of French and Indian Wars figures from Armies in Plastic that look pretty close to the time frame. I hope there aren’t a lot of details that seem out of place. I’ll let you all know.
