I don’t paint many figures, but now & then I get the urge. Nice change of pace from my normal aircraft & armor builds. These are 54mm white metal figures. Painted with Humbrol enamels & Winsor Newton oils.
Thanks for looking & for the comments, much appreciated.
The figures came as a set & are some I had in my stash from years back. They were released by a company called Phoenix, which I believe is long OOB. They came as shown & were not modified in any way. The log was something I added, it’s actually real wood from a small branch I picked up in the back yard. The kit showed the loose rifle for the seated figure resting across his knees, but I thought the log would look better & give more balance to the vignette.
Much to my surprize, this one took a First Place Award for figure vignettes at the recent IPMS Region 4 Model Show in Ohio.
They also had some very talented sculptors [:)]. I never got into their Follies line of provacative females, but I do have the complete Atlantis series, unpainted & in the original bags, in my stash. Maybe I’ll put those on ebay someday as I suspect they might be worth a few sheckles these days.
Tim Richards did a bunch of the Phollies. He then went to Mascot Models where he did a similar ladies series, but a tad more risque than the Phollies. Not sure where he went after Mascot or whether he’s still there.
Phoenix usually had good stuff. I have more than a dozen of the Phollies.
