Hi guys! Im not a member of IPMS manila but I bet you guys know the answer to this. Im rebuilding an old SU 24 Fencer D and painting it w/ Soviet Maritime colors (blue-gray / white, like backfires). Problem is I don’t know the exact shae since my refernce books & net searches have vague colors. What paint can I buy locally to duplicate the blue-gray shade? It’s nearest to waht Tamiya or Academy Enamelm shade / mixture? Thanks! BTW I might not be able to aswer asap. I usually log in only once a week. Thanks in advance for the help.[8D]
Leave it to the Swedes to have the best cross reference on aircraft paint schemes. Try this link to the soviet page, they even have color chips (of course they are limited by capabilities of you monitor, etc. and can not be relied on). The site says the gray on a Su-24 is FS 36375 it lists the number for Humbrol as 127, Model Master as 1728 and other paints but not Tamiya.

I believe this link answers you color question. Good Luck on your Fencer
thanks derek!
The place for this topic is the aircraft forum, to which I have just moved it. derekms has been helpful, but I’ll bet some of the aircraft folks will be happy to provide more info.
