Sourcing a Wittmann Tiger

After a long period of inactivity from the modeling world, I decided to jump back in, trying something completely different (from what I normally do) and bought a 1/35 Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf D and an airfix 1/76 WWI “female” tank. I had more fun doing armor than anything else in a long time and I’d love to add to my very small collection! I’m a total newb to armor, but I’m really interested in doing Michael Wittmann’s 007 Tiger (in 1/35), but I’m having trouble sourcing a kit. I know Dragon did one not too long ago but I can’t really find any for sale (that aren’t on Ebay for ridiculous amounts). Is there a comparable Tiger kit I could use, with some details added and aftermarket decals available? Either Tamiya or Dragon/Cyber-hobby or the like? Thanks!

There was a Cyber Hobby kit, but as usual that was Limited edition. I bought one new for £75, so i would imagine they would go for very silly prices now. But any late Production Tiger kit should do the job. Dragon does have a 3 in 1 kit which also has the antenna for a command Tiger, whcih you would need. And the markings should be easy to get hold of.

Thank you very much! I found the Dragon 3 in 1 kit for a decent price so I’ll begin there. I think I found some suitable aftermarket decals too, I’ll see how that goes once I get the Tiger. Thanks again

If the kit you got is this one.

Or the pre Zimmed version of it, then you will be fine. To be honest, i wish i had gone for this one instead of the CH. The only thing the CH kit has is pre Zimm and the markings, both of which i could have sorted out myself and saved a bit of cash.

Yes, I managed to locate a place that has the Dragon 3 in 1 in stock, I’ll be making an order as soon as possible. I’ve got a few others (Panzer IV Ausf G and Emhar’s WWI Male tank) on the list to order as well, so it’ll be a nice long december of armor!

O f course you will need his numbers to make it complete. 007 baby.

Oh of course, I’ve got a link on some techmod Tiger I E Late decals. They seem to be the only game in town for aftermarket 007 decals in 1/35 that I can source, but at least I can get a hold of them [t$t]

I know this is late news but AFV did a Wittman edition with a few photo etch extras and resin. I know i was lucky to get one a while back for £30
