Sorta on Subject

As most of you know I’ve been restoring a 1960 GMC Pickup that went under in Katrina. Well, the wife and I got to talking Sunday and she explained that since the truck would have to do another off frame, and based on the time and money it would take, why don’t I just find one finished and shine it up, so thats what I did. Take a look at what she let me buy today.

Some might ask how this is BB related, it easy, now I can spend time on SHIP MODELS instead of working on a truck! It will be delivered from Oregon in about 12-15 days. in order to make is a tru '60, I have to change the hood, tailgate, rims/tires and bring the stance back up to 16". I can’t wait to drive one vs. just look sad as they pass by.

That’s sweet.

Sweet! I’ve always liked the looks of GM and Chevy trucks, especially the ones from the 50s & 60s. I’m glad you’re raising the suspension, as I don’t like lowrider trucks.

They call it a low rider, but I think he just lowered the rear-end. Well see in 14 days, I sent the money via wire transfer.

Hah! If its a 1960, it probably lowered itself. Now you have to get a 1/25 scale kit and post pictures of the build next to the real thing.

I was working on one when the storm hit. I ordered the correct hood and tailgate replacement parts from a resin company. However I will probally try to scratch build a block for the motor in the general ship of the V-6. My truck will be painted like the following picture.
