Somewhere in England.. Completed!!!!

Well, after 9 LONG months this baby is delivered!! I’m giving it to my RAF buddy on Thursday! I promise this is the last time I will post this plane!! This is the 1/32 scale Hasegawa Mark VB spitfire with a custom electronics set from dynamicscalemodeling.com. I HIGHLY recommend using these guys to bring your models to life!

Excellent build, Claude! Wow! Are those sparks I see from the exhaust?

The plaque is a beaut, too.

Your friend will be absolutely thrilled! I love the artistic liscence you took with this build, lots of sentimental value. Plus it looks so sharp!

Thanks. The 'sparks" are a flicker board that is part of the integrated electronics package i purchased from dynamicscalemodeling.com. The light frequency is timed to the engine rpm so it flickers rapidly on acceleration and tapers off at idle. As for the plaque…its just a word document on a black background printed on photo paper. The first version was black on white and it was too bright…

That is too cool!

Nice work.

Real nice job. That DSM stuff is great isn’t it.

Beautiful! Just beautiful!

I know your friend be absolutely delighted. Well done! [tup][tup][tup]

I’m cyber-high-fiving you!

So well done, it gives me chills! …goosebumpy!

What a cherry!

Very very cool in deed… [tup][tup] my friend…!!

Flaps up,

Mike

Rangers Lead The Way

Very cool! You did an awesome job on that.

And you are hereby awarded 10,000 Ninja Bonus Points for it being a Spitfire! [:D]

Thanks for the kind words. I am so stoked that I finally get to give this to my friend tomorrow ( Thursday) at the University where we both work. This model has kind of a cult following among the faculty, since they knew i was working on it for so long, and they will all be on hand when I finally present it to him.

Its the standard RAF Dark Green over Ocean Grey topsides and RAF "Sky-type S on the undersides. Couldn’t find the fishtail exhaust pipes ( you spitfire guys will know what I am referring to) so I had to improvise with some flattened aluminum tubing. The codes are his initials and the serial is his birthdate, also, the IFF flashes his initials in Morse code.

The only depressing thing now is that building static models again is gonna be kind of a let down… Well, I’ll just have to animate those too!! cheers!

Claude

Claude, [bow] Great Job [bow]
