Something a little bigger this time

Here are a couple pics to let you know what will be next on my bench.

This was a “Special Edition” 1/48 B-26, as noted on the box.

And here’s what’s “special” about it:

The resin bits.

One resin piece for the turret was missing (and no longer available from RM), so I’ll have to scratch it. Some of the thinner parts of the resin got broken, but will be easy enough to fix. And, in case you’re wondering, I won’t be rescribing it or chipping the paint.

This looks to be a fun project, and a real change from the two little fighters that I just built.

pix outstanding. should be a great build for you.

Hope you got a fresh tube of putty cause you’re going to need it around those engine nacelles and tail planes. Looking forward to seeing your results on this one.

I have the newer version of this on the build pile-- looking forward to your stab at it…

Good luck on your new build Pix. Can’t wait to see some results.

Jerry

Can’t wait to see this thing when it’s done. BTW how much was the kit.

I can’t wait to see some progress!

Thanks Joe, Swanny, Jeeves, dragonfly, falcon, and lerxst1031 !

Swanny - they aren’t very bad, once the surfaces are trimmed and sanded. The nacelles aren’t joined to the wing yet, but when I apply the Tenax one side at a time, there won’t be much of a gap. The cowls will take a little work, though.

falcon - I got this kit Nov. 13, '98 (I used to write the date of delivery on the kit). I don’t remember the cost, but it must have been around $20 to $25.

Thanks again !

I may be wrong- but isn’t this one kit Eduard does not do a pe set for?

Looks like a fun project Pix. Keep us posted.

Regards, Rick

Wow, looks like you got the kit on the day i turned twelve! I love RM kits, simple as some of them are. Cant wait to see more pics.

Thanks chukw, Rick, and BLAKJAK !

chukw - Eduard produces a nice little set for the 1/72 Airfix B-26 (the only 1/72 kit I have !), and canopy masks for this one. I have Squadron vacs for this kit, but I need some True Details wheels (the kit ones have diamond-shaped “fish scales” for treads).

BLAKJAK - twelve? I turned twelve in '67 (do the math). Monogram’s 1/48 bombers have some great detail, and you can’t beat the price !

Thanks again !
