One of the great things about living where I do is the close proximity to some great museums!
School starts this coming Wednesday so I took the day off and took my son to the Udvar-Hazy Center. It is the annex @ Dulles International to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum.
I shot some pictures…thought I would share a few…
For all you Luftwaffe fans…
The “Uhu”

Three views of the Jumo Jet engine…

Now this is a Bare Metal Finish !

I have some more and will post them later…some MiG21 shots as well as some shots of the first Flying Wing Prototype…
Hope you all enjoy…
I went to that mudeum, rocked something sweet. Now they just need to get to work restoring that wonderful HO-229 they have had mothballed
That is the shinniest plane ive ever seen . Must be great being that close to so many museums , Thanks for the pics .

Great pics Joe. Can’t wait to go there myself one day.
NMF!!! That things almost achrome finish! The closest I ever got to going to the Smithsonian was being stationed at Langley AFB for three months. Not long enough to take time off to drive up there. Someday I will go. I have to!
I would hate to be the person that keeps that T-33 polished. Great pictures. I see a lot more has been added since my visit there over thirty years ago.
Great pics Joe. Thanks for posting.
Regards, Rick
Awesome! You lucky . . . guy!
I love the N-9 PIC YOU GOT THERE!
