Looks pretty good. Can you upload larger pics in the future? The shade of grey doesn’t mirror any commonly seen German wartime colors, if you’re into that kinda thing. Continue to refine and develop your finishing techniques by reading lots of build articles in magazines and other AFV modelling websites. You’ll really see yourself expanding your abilities with some investigation and inspiration from some of the extremely talented artists out there – I’m trying my best to mimic some of those guys, I assure you!
I hope you continue to enjoy this great hobby! Can’t wait to see it finished!
Larger pics are nice. [:D] I’m no expert mind you and am working on taking better myself. Looks good so far. Are they the kit tracks or am’s?
Thanks T26E4, I am trying to increase my accuracy. The paint I used was straight from the bottle, I have read that some modelers lighten thier paint for a more scale effect (mostly I’ve seen this done for aircraft) should I do the same for armor? I’ve got a dragon early tiger that I am planning to do soon and I would like to be more accurate. Plus this is my first real attempt at applying “dirty” weathering, any help is good help.
Tigerman, those are the kit tracks and they required a lot of clean-up. This was also my first link by link track build.
Will try to do larger pics next time. I’m still trying to find the ins and outs of my camera.
Thanks again for your input.
Looks pretty good from here. As others said, larger pics would be nice. Further, just one little comment about the rust streaks. They all look to be a little too uniform. Depending on whether you’re using pigments or colours, mix in more thinner, or less thinner, or varying shades, and drag some long, and drag some short. This will create a more realistic effect. Also, try to start off with really thin applications, running down the sides the longest, then apply slightly stronger ones closer to the origin point of the rust. Hope that makes sense.
Makes good sense to me and thanks for your input. A lot of this will be used in my next build.
At this point I’m going to call this one finished. Thanks for everyones comments, I’ll put them to future use. Here are the final pics.

Great job finishing this one. My remark about the hue of your base coat is that German dark grey is almost black. From the photos, your base coat looks very much a medium grey. I use lightening for scale effect too but, to my eye, your grey is just too light. Regardless, nice work.
A couple of more items: for your next project, try not to use figures with infantry equipment as crew. AFV crews ususally just had a belt. Sometimes a holster. All that gear around the waist would have been a considerable hinderance (or even jeapordize tank crews) in the small confines of an AFV. Lastly, the sFH18 15cm howitzer in the Hummel used two part ammo. The projectile, which was rammed in the breach and then the cartridge which was a brass shell with various powder bags inside to be the propellent. I think your loader is holding a one piece shell.
HTH
Great thanks for the info. Like I said It can all be used for the next project.
