Some Finished Armor

I new so I thought I would show off some stuff I have done recently.

Terry

Welcome to the forum [snWcm] thats some nice stuff,I really like the German Flak gun.

Awesome looking stuff, very realistic and weather, shaded and positioned amazingly.

I have one question. Since it’s really hard to tell in two dimensions how tall is the guy in the back of the m113? I drove a lot of those and he looks like he’s about 7 feet tall. We did have a Sargent that was 6’5" and the ex heavy weight Army championship boxer. But even he was not that tall. So were exactly did you get the figure? He looks great but he looks like goliath…LOL. Other wise it looks like it just came out of the field and believe me I know what they look like from freshly painted to a few weeks in the field.

The Bradley looks amazing. I was in a few but I left the unit when they were coming in.

Overall superior work and it makes me nervous that I could never do as well. But I’m going to try…

The M113 looks amazing how did you make the antenna?

By the way for anybody who doesn’t know it’s called an M one one three not an M one thirteen. Just like the M48 is called an M four eight yet the M60 is called a M sixty…not an M six zero…go figure…LOL.

Thanks anthony! I love the gray paint.

Thanks BigDaddy!!

The figure is supposed to 1/35 from Warriors. I think it is just an optical ilusion. The antenna is made of stretched sprue.

Good looking stuff! Keep posting here as much as you want.

B D Bman- I think the angle of the pic throws off the size of the fig. I’m 6’2", and standing next to a 113 I find the vehicle is not quite a foot? taller than me.

I have no experience with this one as I was a Marine, but I went to a tank museum outside Kenosha Wisc. this fall and the curator had one sitting out.

G

Unloaded they were about 7 feet tall. When they were loaded down with a few tons of stuff they were lower and that’s why I said he looks like the white Shaq…ha ha!!!

I’m 5"7" and I used to walk up the front to get to the drivers hatch. I fell off one and it wasn’t that long a fall, I was walking on top and someone tripped me…ha ha real funny. That joker got caught up in some stupid stuff and went to jail, then dishonorably discharged. I remember him, he was from Hawaii. I didn’t think/remember about that till now.

Thanks G!

Ok, the one I saw was unloaded and 7 feet makes sense.

Amazing what we remember when something like this comes up huh? [:D]

G

Falling even 6 feet would suck!

Terry [H]

They all look great. Do you have any more pics of the M6A2 Linebacker? What scale is it as well? I have thought about doing the conversion in 1/35 myself, but haven’t gotten around to it.

I was young and in shape. I popped up and went after the guy. he saw I could fight, for real and ran away…LMAO. He was a nut…

I’m just kind of curious about were the solider came from. Like was it a kit guy or from one of the after market companies or was it kind of a Frankenstein. I’m doing a diorama with a lot of Marines and a lot of them will be kind of Frankensteins to make enough of them in different poses. Like using WWII American and German legs and arms with different bodies and adding miliput to make pockets on those Vietnam jungle trousers or accessories like the ammo bandoleers they used.

Thanks! Yeah I have some more pictures just didn’t want to overload the thread. The scale is 1/72. I will try to upload a new thread for just the M6.

It’s just a Warriors figure strait from the box. You might look at a outfit called Bravo6 they make some killer figures and they are all Nam.

Terry [H]

Yes I have some bravo 6 and some other resin figures but they are expensive. So I figured I would mix in some home made guys based on the better quality castings. I have seen dioramas that have the figures out of the box and they look funny. If you have a solider firing a weapon his hand has to be in a certain position. So I ordered some hands and heads too. Hornet makes some cool looking stuff. There were a lot of African American soldiers in Nam yet I have only one or two figures. So I bought a kit of just heads from Hornet. I had to get them from England.

It seems some of this stuff, especially the really cool stuff is just NOT in the good old USA.

Ain’t it the truth everything seems to be off shore.
