Some beach babes

The paint is on, the Future has cured and we are gearing up for some decals

Looking good love the multi coloured prop tips! Don’t recognize the plane sorry. Always good to see your work.

They are Do-18’s, are they not?

Just curious, any reason why you build two identical planes at the same time?

Anyhoo, the paintjob looks very nice.

I’m doing the same thing at the moment as a study of 1 plane but in 2 poses. 1 will be with open canopy (I have attempted a home made seat harness for the first time), cockpit ladder but closed brakes and the second on the runway with brakes open and drag chutes deployed (if I can make them effectively that is). Plane in question here is Su-7. Using the OEZ kit 1/48 and the fit leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes, they are Do-18s and they are not quite identical, the one in the foreground has wide chord props and will be done as “Zephir” while the other one has longer narrow chord props and is being done as “Monsun”. Also one of these is going to another collector so only one will end up on my shelf. Another interesting item is that I have already done a 1/72 Do-26 in the same color scheme and have a Do-24 (Swiss markings) waiting to hit the workbench. I am hoping to get a picture of all four in formation.

Those are two good looking beach bunnies.

Holy cow ! those panel lines on the engine nacelles look cavernous! What is the deal? As usual your paint work is very good, it’s too bad you will have to split these twins when they are weined.

Steve

Those panel lines are a bit out of scale. I figure if this was 1:1 you would be able to insert your fist into those lines. Didn’t feel like filling and rescribing all of them - just lazy I guess.

Looking great Swanny. Keep us posted.

Regards, Rick

Gotta love yellow on a/c, just makes em look so joyfull[:D]

I understand the panel line thing Swanny, sometimes the drive has to be tammed!

And those props look cool, how did you get the 3 colours on there?
Or are they decals??

Those props took a little effort - that is all paint. First they were done with Krylon Gloss Black then with Alclad Aluminum. The tip was measured for 3mm then the rest of the blade was masked off. The tip was airbrushed yellow. A 1mm strip of tape was wrapped around the center section and then the blue was airbrushed. Now the blue gets masked and the red goes on. Now all the masks are removed and the proeller is installed. Now it all gets masked one more time so the engine nacelle and pylon can be painted. 4 propellers … I use a lot of masking tape.

Looks great Swanny! Keep em coming!

Can’t wait to see the group shot Swanny.

The Dorniers are looking great. Not quite as good as the standard 2 legged version of beach babes, but almost.
