Some armor WIPs- yes, I am on vacation pt II

I’ve been off for the past few weeks and trying to catch up on my building. Here are a few of my armor kits currently under construction.

Here is my Dragon 1/35 Sherman Firefly IC

Italeri 1/35 LVT(A)-1

And Tamiya 1/35 Challenger I, Desert

Hope you enjoy…[swg]

Geez man your a machine [bow]

Ive just come from replying to your Aircraft post.(Gotta say it quietly. Some of these guys are touchy)

Very nice! I like the “bathtub-on-wheels”![(-D]

That desert Challenger has been tempting me for months now…I’ll be curious to see how yours turns out!

“bathtub on wheels”! I like it![(-D] If the Japanese had sent that message/phrase on sighting them, it probably would not have had the same effect as their similar term did when they first saw them and they radioed higher HQ.

The Challenger is a SWEET build! I am taking my time to make sure all goes well. In the next week or so it should be taking final shape.

[XX]Luft-not so loud… cant be seen fraternizing…[:O]

Gosh, three builds at once, you’re ambitious! I like each subject, so I’ll be following closely your work. Good luck, you can get it done.

Hi Stikpusher: vacation is good to knock out a lot of the “shelf queens”

Can I point one item out to you? The M4 Hybrid base of your Firefly IC had an engine crank hole on the upper rear bulkhead. Because of this, I’m pretty sure they didn’t mount the long storage box back there like they did with the M4A4 chasses. If they had it, they would’ve put it up on the glacis, I’m guessing.

T26,

Thanks for the pointer. I’ll have to check my references before I continue on the Firefly! Fortunately I do have good materials on that vehicle.

Good call T-26! So much for Dragon’s instructions! All my materials show now stowage box on the tail plate and very few mounted on the glacis. I will correct the stowage box ASAP. This Firefly IC Hybrid I plan on marking as an Irish Guards vehicle during the late summer '44 drive to Brussels based on a photo in a Concord book that has no bow stowage box. Not to worry though, I have an old MB Models M4A4 hull that needs it…

Thanks again!

Stikpusher,

Seems like you are really utilizing your vacation well. Enjoy it and hope you finish all of those models while you are having time off from work.
