Thanks. The SR-71 Start Cart brings back memories of the other guys’ night ground runs at Edwards Air Force Base. Note that the placard states 5200 rpm as the maximum for the Chevy engines - a J58 start used every one of those revolutions and then some. It lit off with a muted boom just about when you were sure that the start cart “is’nae goin’ ta take it! The engines won’t take any more! She’s going ta blow any minute!” Then you would hear the cart whining down over the sound of the J58 spooling up.
