Some 190A restoration pics

I went to the bomber display in Baton Rouge yesterday. They were parked at a private a/c company hangar. I happen to walk in the hangar shop and see this 190A-8 being worked on. Since I am currently building this exact variant, I was thrilled! I talked to the guy working on her. This wreck was found in France and brought back by a private owner. Only 15% of this rebuild is original. Everything else including the engine is from a kit. The owner is painting the scheme of his preference and it does not reflect the original a/c. Enjoy the pics…

Not a very impressive mottle job!

The strut was attached to the entire wing assembly. The wingspan was pretty impressive.

The cockpit is so tiny. I don’t see how they fit or saw thru the front screen.

Andy-

cool pics, thanks for sharing them!

I wish I had a full-size FW kit in my garage, instead of just a 1/48 in my workshop. Maybe someday… [V]

Hey Wulf-- thanks for the pics.

Let’s see some shots of your model that you’re doing.

I’m working on an A4 right now myself.

Thanks for sharing show us more show us more.

I’m on the bandwagon of those working on an A8 as well. Thanks for the pictures.

What an experience to see that it must have been!

Thanks for posting the pictures of the full scale FW. Good luck on your model.

I wonder who makes decals that big!

It looks very impressive (read: expensive). It will be great to have a FW on the airshow circuit.

I agree with you about the mottling, however. Looks very hacky and uninspired.

Nice to see one of those up close-thanks for the pics!

The paint is way too shiny on that thing!

Hmmm… A 1/1 scale plane kit, that has Trumpeter beat! Would be great to see that baby performing at an airshow. By the way, have anyone seen those ME-262’s that were built in Texas flying around??
