I was referring to the insert/edit link buttons at the top of the toolbar here. I can’t get them at work or home.
You mean the “chain” & “broken chain” icons? That’s what I used to insert the link above.
I had this problem a while back where they stopped working and then suddenly they did again. I figure it was something that my browser was up to. I use Firefox and they’ve been upgrading like crazy.
You don’t even need to use those buttons. I just copy and paste the hyperlink into the post and as soon as you hit the space bar it automatically turns it into a hyperlink. I use Internet Explore 6 and 7.

I just can’t warm up to IE 7, but I sure wish that David Voss could figure out how to make this forum play well with both browsers.

You’re a funny guy. I used to use Firefox fairly often before IE7 came out. After trying IE7 I prefer it to Firefox [:)]
Ok Scott, I’m going to try again to see if IE7 can imprint on me, or not.
I’ve disabled the phishing feature, since everyone tells me that’s why it takes so freaking long to open the home page. It certainly helps. Instead of waiting almost a minute, I wait only 30 seconds. But perhaps I’m impatient. I will keep trying. Once in it’s quick, as quick as Firefox.
One thing that does bug me about FF is the recurring eat all resources and lock up that it does. It never crashes the desktop, but what a pain to go into task manager and kill off the offending process.
Well, it’s more of a pain to setup how I like. I keep folders of sites I go to regularily on the FF Bookmark Toolbar, and a simple middle button click opens all the bookmarks as tabs. Can’t seem to do that in IE7. That’s a show stopper for me, as I don’t want to be forced to click open each tab.
What is it about IE7 that you prefer to FF?
Ya, the anti-phishing feature really slowed down the IE07 browser. I have mine turned off. As long as you’re paying attention, there really is no need for an anti-phishing feature. I think most of us know better than to click on links in e-mails asking for ID’s and passwords, therefore the anti-phishing feature is needed for the tech-illiterate masses.
I prefer IE7 mainly because it works will all web pages. I have issues with some of the sights I like to frequent in Firefox. In fact, I had switched to Firefox for awhile, but got annoyed with many of the forums and boards I requent having problems and switched back to IE6 and then IE7 shortly thereafter.
I see no advantage to using Firefox over IE7 anymore (in the not too distant past Firefox was better in some respects, tabbed browsing, being able to open multiple sights in one click etc). I frequent 5 or 6 different forums, and a few other websites which I have set up on the links toolbar in IE7, works great for me. [:)]
