Heller and…?

Heller and…?
(The Gunze Sanyo one is Heller too.)
There is always this Airedale resin kit on ebay starting at $90 [:O]
I’m hoping Tamiya is on a Frenchie kick since they released their Char B. Would make a nice addition to the stash.
Only 90$ huh? Such a deal! (Not!)
hehehe, I can understand the pricetag tho- small kit maker, all resin, etc. It’s certainly a fair asking price, but asking more than I’m willing to pay.
Anyone else built the GS, or the Heller Somua S35? I’d like to hear from feedback.
i’ve built the heller kit and while there are reported inaccuracies the big one being the turret size and shape i believe if you can live with this it is not too bad a kit i dont have any pics but it looks like a somua to me.
Biffa-
I was not so much concered with accuracy, per se, minor shape differences I can certainly live with, I was more concerned with poor fit quality, “soft” details and shoddy directions.
My only recent heller kit was the MIR space station, and while it was simplistic, I had no issues with it, in fact it was fun to build.
The most incorrect part of the heller kit is the turret. Airedale also do a replacement resin turret, and there is a photoetch set out there as well for it. They’re not that expensive, and would allow you to fix up the base kit a bit. There was a Gunze kit of it as well, but from what I understand the only difference between the gunze and heller is that the gunze had some option of the tracks not being of the vinyl type, but either link and length, or link to link.
Heller kits are generally well-engineered, perhaps too well-engineered. Their philosophy is “why do it in 3 parts when we can do it in 7.”
Yeah I knew the Gunze kit was the Heller kit, with individual track links (which is actually a downside for me).
I guess I’ll grab the Heller kit from eBay and see what I can do with it.
