Smile for the TIMES - Redux (photos update)

Been working on this for over 2 years now. I just couldn’t decide how I wanted it look or what to portray. So, this is where I’m at,a at the moment. I just need t add one more figure and add some smaller details, before calling it quits.

That looks amazing! The stucco walls and weathering are incredibly realistic. How did you make the stencil of the guy with the blindfold?? Really awesome.

Thanks. The stencil is actual paper. I downloaded the art from the internet and printed it on paper. Then cut it out and used white glue to thin it out so it would melt into the wall. I just brushed the edges with glue, that it thinned out the edges.

Really well portayed action to your figures!

Thanks.

Tiking,

Another outstanding diorama sir! In my humble opinion I don’t think you need to add anything more to this already wonderful layout. I agree with Griffin25, the blindfolded photo was a awesome touch to the sceen. The figures look great, and the building looks amazing. Thank you for sharing this wonderful diorama.

Thank you kindly for your assessment. I do appreciate it. I just have one more figure to complete the scene. It’s a figure of another resistent fighter coming around the corner as the first figure is looking towards him. I wanted to give the figure something to look at as he is runniong away from the building.

That’s really going to set it off…I can’t wait to see it.

Thank you. Mee too. Will post the final photos when I am done.

I’ll be here waiting lol. [;)]

Hmmmm;

Nothing short of Amazing!! Your textures ,subject matter and attention to detail is just that ,Amazing .The Fighter on the wall is awesome . I can just hear him yelling " FREEDOM !! " like Mel Gibson did at the last in that Movie !

That freedom line holds true. I thought the same thing, when I first saw it.

That is Art Work.

Beautiful diorama and amazing Thought-process.

If you must add 1 more figure then I guess you must but AS-IS and put out on display the viewers of your Masterpiece will all look down that wall, and wonder… That’ll get some attention.

Speaking of “off the wall” ( and smaller details),…maybe a Can of Coke with a bullit hole in it?

Nino

Thank u Nino, for the tip. Glad u like the dio.

I think this diorama can be called finished. Although, I am still adding small details here and there still. But here are some photos of diorama in its entirety since the last time I uploaded, under a different title. I have been struggling with it because of my figure painting skills over the two year period. I was never satisfied with the results, which always ended up being put aside until I could improve my skills. So here it is with another added, two figures. The theme is simple. Somewhere in Iraq, a group of insurgents are running towards a fight, to help their fellow comrades. Just has they run by the corner of the building, a freelance photographer is kneeling around the corner taking their photos, which in turn will be sold to the ‘TIMES’ magazine.

Wow that looks great! Loved the diorama before and the story really helps to tie things together, though I am afraid we’re seeing things just before the cameraman gets shot.

Great work as usual!!! [Y]

Impressive job great result.

Oh My!

A stupid Critique.I was pickin nit to myself and I spotted something a Dio-Figure Judge would pick up on. Shade the bottom of the footwear to reflect the surface they are running or walking on, even Kneeling the shoe soles would reflect the dirt they have just walked in. Sorry! Still a darned awesome Dio anyway !

I really hopw not. :frowning: but it could go anyway.

I had plan to do just that before these photos were taken. So, I got that covered. Thank you for reminding me.
