Small floating tank diorama

Very cool! Love the idea and how the water came out.

Yeah I love it too.afraid I’m not familiar with the vehicle .what is it?

Thanks guys. It’s a Dragon 1/72 Japanese tank Ka-Mi type 2. The front and rear pontoons were built in compartments so if damaged it would still float. I posted 3 of my dioramas yesterday but did not leave any details because since I was new here I wanted to insure that the photos went through ok,

They’re all really cool Cobraman- just posted here since I like this one the most. Still, they all came out great!

Nice looking dio. That’s an unusual looking vehicle, not something I am familiar with. Was this ever used in action.

Hey Cobraman, hope you don’t mind me jumping in here? Yeah, it did see combat use but it’s thin armour and weak gun left it at a big disadvantage vs US and Commonwealth troops- I think I remember that a heavy machine gun would punch though it’s armour. Still it was one of the most effective amphibious tanks of the war being able to run though even choppy rough seas, mainly since it was built from the ground up as an amphibious vehicle rather than having stuff strapped to it like a Sherman DD.

There is a 1/35th Dragon kit, Constructor built it a few years back, and Jibber has plans to build one for the Japanese GB III.

Again I love this Cobraman- very cool to show the tank ‘doing it’s thing’ as it were.

Thank you guys. I remember reading that both pontoons could be released from the inside of the tank.
