Site to get reference pictures

another message board i read pointed to the german e-bay site , WOW some of the picture for sale there are just fabulous and most of them have a image of them in the auction.

for example this auction has a very nice picture of a slightly damaged panzer [:D]

i don’t speak german so navigating there is like trying to go thru a maze while blindfolded but some of the material is amazing

main category page is here

i never tought about looking there for pictures but what a find it is

Wow, what a neat find.

If you download a bunch of these, upload them to the gallery and I will add them to the reference portion.

a good idea never thought about it
have you found any Panthers or other late war tanks on there

about the panther unfortunately no i didn’t find any [:(] it was one of the first things i looked for , but considering i dont speak german its hardly a surprise. [:D]. maybe someone on these boards speak german and could tell us what a panther is called in german, it might just be a spelling variation like foto - photo. either way i spent a while browsing last night and its like opening up xmas gifts , you never know what you’ll get , some are great , some are lumps of coal [:D]

on a side note , some of the pictures are quite graphic… i now know what a tank crew looks like after their tank is destroyed with them in it… not for the faint of heart. just a little warning

Love the 1st pic of the Stug. It’s funny how after all that damage it now resembles a Panzer IV Ausf D, but then again the second pic is truely amazing, a Stug with a mock up of a T34 over it[:p].

Guess this means that to look for any Panther pics you will need to search under ‘Sturmgeschutz’[:D]

Seriously, this is a great idea. If you want to translate German to English use one of the free on line translation sites like:
http://world.altavista.com/

You can actually copy a web site address into the box provided at this translation site, then it will open the original site with English text. As you wade through links to other pages it will automatically translate them too.

Thanks PantherLehr. Those are very good reference pictures.
