Since everybody else is doing this

I’ve also been thinking about future GBs. If I get the chance these are some I’ve kicked around in my head and would like to do or see done.

*Float Plane GB

*B-52 GB

*Trainer GB

*Airliner GB

*Blue Angels GB

*MiG GB

I may not do all of these, so if anyone would like to do one, feel free. I would like some feedback on these, suggestions and such. Heck, I’ll even take criticism. Are these too broad? Do they need to be more defined? Too much? Too little?

Roadkill, you seem to like much the same things as I do. You are right up my alley with the B-52, Blue Angels, and Airliner GBs, though an impending relocation may wreck havoc with my modeling plans. I do have the Tamiya MiG 15 waiting for a rainy day too.

I was just thinking yesterday that I was surprised nobody had proposed a Blue Angels or T-birds group build. The only remaining group effort that I’ve considered proposing that hasn’t already been proposed is a “Naughty Nose Art” group build.

I’d do the trainer thing; got a couple Testors/Hawk Ryans that have been layin’ around waiting to be built…

And I can’t believe that I, of all people, didn’t think of a Nose Art GB… must be losin’ it… [:p]

Fade to Black…

I could go with the Trainer and Airliner catagories… going to be building three for the Civil build, but an old Piedmont Airlines YS-11A “On the ramp” diorama might be in order too. [;)]

Take care,
Frank

Lets start an argument. I wouldn’t do a T-birds GB if you paid me. Too much white paint and a Boring routine and the F-18 just looks better than that overpriced blow dart called an F-16. Give me the Blues any day of the week. (can you tell I don’t like F-16s?)

ChemMan, where are you moving too? Hopefully you’re staying in the great state of Texas and not moving up into yankee land!! You can never have too many B-52s.

Steve, you’re not losing it, it’s a little thing called getting old!!

Frank, I was thinking along the same lines except with the old Monogram Connie.

I was also thinking about doing an African MiG GB, but decided to broaden it to include all of the MiGs. I’ve got the hobbycraft 1/72 MiG 15 “International MiG” and I’m thinking of doing it as an Egyptian.

I’ll do the B-52 build! That would be great, because I have the Monogram 1/72 on the bench, but due to a recent move, its been sitting there for a while. And even if the F-16 is a “lawn dart”, it can out-accelerate the Hornet any day. Besides, its an Air Force jet… 'nuff said! OK, rant over!

I like the idea of a Blue’s GB, I have been wanting to build Fat Albert since I was a kid, that would be a good reason. And I really like the “Naughty nose art” that one sounds REALLY cool[:D] I don’t have much to say about whether the '16 is better than the '18, I would give my right arm just to fly either one of them! And not to hijack the topic but,has there ever been a 1/24 scale aircraft G/B?

While visiting SSMAP for an airshow, General John P. Jumper walks up to Roadkill and a conversation begins…

General Jumper: Mr.Roadkill, the United States Air Force would like to give you $100,000.

Roadkill: General, what have I done to deserve this?

General Jumper: Nothing, yet.

Roadkill: Well, what do I have to do? Just name it; want me to wash the VC-32?

General Jumper: No, not exactly.

Roadkill: Then what do I have to do?

General Jumper: You are a member of the FSM forums, are you not?

Roadkill: Yessir, I am! Want me to build a model of the VC-32, or maybe the VC-25?

General Jumper: No, not exactly.

Roadkill: Then WHAT?

General Jumper: We want you to help us with a little public relations work.

Roadkill: Sure! Whaddya need me to do.

General Jumper: Well, in order to help cultivate interest in the Air Force among the young modelers of the USA, especially the post-rugrat types, we’d like you to start a group build on the forum.

Roadkill: SURE!!!

General Jumper: We’d like it to be a Thunderbirds group build.

Roadkill: General Jumper, please accept my cordial invitation to the theological place of eternal punishment.

General Jumper: Oh yeah!?! Screw you too, buddy!!!

Roadkill: walks away in a huff AF AH…

General Jumper: walks away in a huff in opposite direction Model geek…

Unbeknownst to General Jumper, BlackWolf is also at the SSMAP for the airshow and has overheard the entire conversation while pretending to snap pictures of the booth babe at the ‘Planes R Us’ aviation memorabilia and collectibles tent.

Well, he wasn’t pretending

BlackWolf: running up behind the General GENERAL!!!

General Jumper: Who the hell are you?

BlackWolf: I’m Steve-O, aka BlackWolf, also a member of the FSM forums.

General Jumper: Oh, yeah. I heard of you. You’re the idiot who spends four hours a day on our website.

BlackWolf: I’m also the idiot who spends eight hours a day at the USN website 'cuz, frankly, it kicks the USAF website right in the a**. I’m also of the opinion that the Blue Angels make the T-Birds look like a buncha whiskey delta converters.

General Jumper: You have a point, they suck. But they’re all we got.

BlackWolf: You could always hire ‘Snort’ to fly the Skyblazers Sabre and ditch the Underbirds.

General Jumper: No, he’s a Squid type.

BlackWolf: Okay, just a suggestion. But I’d like to help you out with the PR thing.

General Jumper: I thought you disliked the Air Force.

BlackWolf: I don’t dislike the Air Force, General. I just dislike the Blunderbirds Thunderbirds.

General Jumper: And you’d still want to help us with this Blund…er… Thunderbirds GB thing? Why?

BlackWolf: $100,000, right? Who wouldn’t do that for $100,000?

General Jumper: That Roadkill character, that’s who.

BlackWolf: Yeah, well I’d be willing to do it. I may like the Blue Angels more than the Thunderbirds, but for a hundred grand? Hell, I’ll even wash the VC-32 for 'ya.

General Jumper: Naw that’s okay, I’ll just take it to a Robowash.

BlackWolf: Suit 'yerself.

General Jumper: So when are you gonna get started?

BlackWolf: April 1st sounds good…

How 'bout a ‘Demo Teams of the World’ GB?

Fade to Black…

The faster to hit the ground!!

hey, inna a scary dream I had last night. I saw a “Anti-Air” GB with all sorts of mean and nasty things that wanted to take the enginge out from between me legs - yeah, I woke up in cold sweats.

Steve, you are so funny. I’m up for that GB when does it start and when does it end?
Must remember to NOT drink coffee when reading your posts, I blew coffee halfway across the room on that one and nearly choked to death I was laughing so hard!!

How about a GeeBee GB?

[:D]

Can the Hornet be modified for Wild Weasel duties? Even Israel does that. Plus, the F-16 was only designed as a tech demonstrator, yet now is a major U.S. fighter! Too bad the Hornet’s original design, the F-17 Cobra, lost out to it.

How 'bout an F-4 build?

I’m all for a Phantom build as long as the date is coincides with my other GB’s. I don’t want to over extend myself. I am commited to 3 so far.
