Shrubbery anyone?

Hey all,

I’ve bought some lichens and other foliage to add to my Tiger I. Can anyone tell me how it was attached? I kinda assumed that the Germans tied it to their tanks. If that’s the case, I could use colored thread to simulate rope. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Okieboy,

Usually was wired up, tied up, stuck under tools and cables …I have even seen where a piece of wire mesh fencing was hung on the side of a stug and branches were woven through that.

They used wiring from damaged buildings, farm fence wire, thread, rope, twine, strips torn from old sheets…the sky is the limit. The average soldier is very creative, if nothing else!

Hey, that’s a great idea Petbat. I hadn’t thought of using wire, but it’s the perfect solution.
I’ve got plenty of micro gauge copper wire and I didn’t even want to think about glueing the shrubs to the Tiger itself. Thank you very much.

No worries Okie.

By the way, I forgot to mention that sometimes crews welded loops of wire to their tank so they could slip braches through the loops. Some Panthers were actually fitted out this way in one of the factories.

Cheers

A shrubbery?? As long as I don’t have to chop down the tallest tree in the forest with a herring!!! [;)] [:D]

Petbat covered it pretty good for you Roy. Like he said, soldiers are creative so anything could go on something like that! [8D]

NIE!

I’d like a nicely formed shrubbery. Not too large. Maybe a white fence around it. And some SPAM.

Petbat, sounds like you’ve covered the Shrub question very well!
